Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mayes Lane, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 130m south west, west then north west of its junction with Butts Green Green Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311001WH2KFL4G – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Paradise Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 335m south east of its junction with Rectory Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th October 2026 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30059434853 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of South Hanningfield Road, Rettendon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 80m south west of its junction with Chalk Street for a distance of approximately 85m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGSNTK9Z – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via South Hanningfield Road, Brock Hill, Swan Lane, A132, Main Road, South Hanningfield Road and vice versa.

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.12) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 17th September 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
