HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON B440 LEIGHTON BUZZARD ROAD, WATER END) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B440 Leighton Buzzard Road, Water End from its junction with Potten End Hill south eastwards to its junction with Red Lion Lane, a distance of approximately 133m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B440 (Leighton Buzzard Road/Dagnall Road/Hemel Hempstead Road/Main Road South), B4506 (Ringshall Road/New Road), A4251 (High Street/Gossoms End/High Street/London Road), A4146 (Station Road/Leighton Buzzard Road) and B440 Leighton Buzzard Road. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 8 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LITTLE HEATH LANE, POTTEN END) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Little Heath Lane, Potten End from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘Beechwood’ north eastwards for a point in line with the northern boundary of ‘The Red Cottage’, a distance of approximately 32m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Little Heath Lane, Pix Farm Lane, Pouchen End Lane, Berkhamsted Road, Hempstead Lane and Little Heath Lane. The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HAWRIDGE, WIGGINTON, BOVINGDON, TRING, HASTOE, BERKHAMSTED, ALDBURY AND FLAUNDEN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

1. that length of Chesham Road, Hawridge from its junction with Hog Lane north westwards to its junction with Hagdale Lane, a distance of approximately 1196m.

An alternative route will be via Hog Lane, Northchurch Lane, Dennys Lane, Shootersway, Cock Grove and Hagdale Lane.

2.   that length of Crawleys Lane/Bottom House Lane, Wigginton from its junction with Chesham Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Hemp Lane, a distance of approximately 2552m. An alternative route will be via Chesham Road and Hemp Lane.

3.  that length of Bulstrode Lane, Bovingdon from its junction with Featherbed Lane south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Rucklers Lane, a distance of approximately 1524m.

An alternative route will be via Flaunden Lane, Chipperfield Road, Tower Hill and Bulstrode Lane.

4.  that length of The Twist, Wigginton from its junction with Vicarage Road north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Fox Road, a distance of approximately 868m.

An alternative route will be via Vicarage Road and Fox Road.

5. that length of Gadmore Lane, Tring/Shire Lane, Hastoe from its junction with Hastoe Hill south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 3108m.

An alternative route will be via Church Lane, Kiln Road and Cholesbury Road.

6. that length of Hog Lane, Berkhamsted from its junction with Chesham Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 327m.

An alternative route will be via Chesham Road, Smoothing Iron, Hagdale Lane, Cock Grove, Shootersway, Dennys Lane, Northchurch Lane and Hog Lane.

7.  that length of Station Road, Tring from its junction with B4635 London Road north eastwards to its junction with Beggars Lane, a distance of approximately 2224m.

An alternative route will be via B4635 London Road, A4251Tring Road, New Ground Road and Beggars Lane.

8.  that length of Station Road, Aldbury from its junction with Northfield Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Trooper Road, a distance of approximately 1390m.

An alternative route will be via Station Road, Beggars Lane, New Ground Road and Trooper Road.

9. that length of Flaunden Lane, Bovingdon/Birch Lane, Flaunden from its junction with Chipperfield Road south westwards to its junction with Bragmans Lane, a distance of approximately 3194m.

An alternative route will be via Chipperfield Road, Tower Hill, Dunny Lane, Flaunden Lane and Bragmans Lane.

10.  that length of A416 Kingshill Way, Berkhamsted from its junction with A416 Kings Road south eastwards to its junction with the A416 Chesham Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 516m.

An alternative route will be via A416 Kings Road, A4251 (High Street/London Road), A41 (unnamed road) and A416 Chesham Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CADDINGTON COMMON, MARKYATE)  ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Caddington Common, Markyate from a point 90m north west of its junction with B4540 Luton Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 330m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via Caddington Common, B4540 (Luton Road/ Markyate Road), Mancroft Road, Pipers Lane and Caddington Common. The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 13 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HUNTERS PARK, BERKHAMSTED)  ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hunters Park, Berkhamsted from a point in line with the south western boundary of No.3 Hunters Park north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”). There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cholesbury Road, Tring from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of ‘The Hollies’ south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cholesbury Road, Chesham Road, Vicarage Road, Fox Road, A41 (Interchange Tring/unnamed road), A416 (Chesham Road/Ashley Green Road/Nashleigh Hill), Vale Road, Cholesbury Lane and Cholesbury Road.

The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 28 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WINIFRED ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Winifred Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Featherbed Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 44m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Featherbed Lane, A4251 London Road, Sealy Way and Weymouth Street.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 29 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the A414 Breakspear Way/Green Lane roundabout, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with northernmost junction with Green Lane clockwise for its entire length.

Motorway traffic will be via A414 Breakspear Way, the M1, the M25, A41 (unnamed road/ Two Waters Way) and A414 (Two Waters Way/St Albans Road/Breakspear Way) Non-motorway traffic will be via Green Lane, Boundary Way, Swallowdale Lane, A4147 Marylands Avenue and A414 Breakspear Way.

2.  that length of A414 Breakspear Way, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the Green Lane roundabout south westwards to its junction with the A4147 Maylands Avenue/A414 St Albans Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 1837 m.

Motorway traffic will be via A414 Breakspear Way, the M1, the M25, A41 (unnamed road/Two Waters Way) and A414 (Two Waters Way/St Albans Road) Non-motorway will be via follow Green Lane, Boundary Way, Swallowdale Lane and A4147 Marylands Avenue.

3.   that length of Green Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Boundary Way south westwards to its junction with the A414 Breakspear Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 408m.

An alternative route will be via Boundary Way, Swallowdale Lane, A4147 Marylands Avenue and A414 Breakspear Way.

4.  that length of Green Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Westwick Row north eastwards to its junction with the A414 Breakspear Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 700m.

An alternative route will be via Green Lane, A4147 Leverstock Green and A414 Breakspear Way.

5. that length of Buncefield Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Wood Lane End south eastwards to its junction with A414 Breakspear Way, a distance of approximately 363 m.

An alternative route will be via Boundary Way, Swallowdale Lane, A4147 Marylands Avenue and A414 Breakspear Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 28 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 nights to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads
