Staveley - Temporary Prohibition of All Traffic due to Bridge Repair Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5059 ABBEY BRIDGE, STATION ROAD, STAVELEY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5059 Station Road, from its junction with the C5108 Main Street, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 20 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the C5108 Main Street, A591 Kendal Road, B5284 Crook Road and the unrestricted section of the C5059.

The Order will come into operation on 12th October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
