ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shenley Hill Road, Leighton Buzzard between numbers 2 to 30.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 October 2026 between the hours 0800 and 1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure will be via Miletree Rd, Eastern Way, Leighton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

SOULBURY ROAD SERVICE ROAD, LINSLADE

WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 15th September 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To introduce No Waiting from Monday to Sunday between 10.00am and 12.00pm on the following lengths of road in Linslade:-

1.  Soulbury Road Service Road, south side, from a point in line with the northwest property boundary of No. 132 and extending southeasterly for approximately 25 metres.

2.  Soulbury Road Service Road, north side, from a point in line with the northwest property boundary of No. 132 and extending southeasterly for approximately 240 metres.

3.  Soulbury Road Service Road, south side, from a point approximately in line with the shared property boundary between No. 118 and No.120 and extending southeasterly for approximately 198 metres.

To introduce No Waiting at Any Time on the following lengths of road in Linslade:-

1.  Soulbury Road Service Road, northwest side, from the junction with Soulbury Road and extending northeasterly before following the curvature of the kerb northwest for approximately 10 metres.

2.  Soulbury Road Service Road, southeast side, from the junction with Soulbury Road and extending northwest before following the curvature of the kerb northeast for approximately 10 metres.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 15th September 2026, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
