What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Chetnole
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, CHETNOLE; DEEP FORD LANE, between the entrance to Street Farm and its junction with Drunch Lane, a distance of approximately 60 metres.
DUNCH LANE, between its junction with Deep Ford Lane and a point of approximately 90 metres east.
DEEP FORD LANE, between its junction with Yetminster Road and a point of approximately 35 metres east.
YETMINSTER ROAD, between its junction with Deep Ford Lane and the entrance to Tamarisk, a distance of approximately 85 metres.
BATCOMBE LANE, between its junction with Neals Lane and its junction with Lamb Plot, a distance of approximately 255 metres.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 05 November 2026
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer maintenance works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
