ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD AND THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (STOCKTON ROAD INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road and the A19 Trunk Road, in the Boroughs of Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough, to enable bridge joint repair works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place between 8pm on Friday 23 October 2026 and 6am on Monday 26 October 2026. However, if necessary, the works will continue between the same times over subsequent weekends until the works are completed.
The effect of the order will be to close the link road connecting the A66 eastbound carriageway with the A19 southbound carriageway at Stockton Road Interchange, during which times a suitably signed alternative route will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 22 October 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
