Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road - Footpath Closures & Waiting Restrictions Due To Various Works

(Temporary Closing Of Station Road, Smallford) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Smallford from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.49 Station Road south eastwards to a point in line with the southern boundary of No.55 Station Road, a distance of approximately 26m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Station Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Colney Heath Lane, the A414 Colney Heath Roundabout, Smallford Lane and Station Road.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 12 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Drive, Radlett) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Drive, Radlett from its junction with A5183 Watling Street north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 94m ("the Road"), except for access.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because the removal of a hazardous tree is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 10 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions On Various Roads In Wheathampstead, Flamstead, Harpenden, London Colney And St Albans) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. That length of Dyke Lane, Wheathampstead from its junction with Marford Road south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Wheathampstead Public Footpath No.022, a distance of approximately 831m.
An alternative route will be via: Marford Road, B651 (The Hill/Wheathampstead Road) and Dyke Lane.

2. That length of Marshalls Heath Lane, Wheathampstead from its junction with B653 Lower Luton Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Mackerye End, a distance of approximately 724m.
An alternative route will be via: B653 Lower Luton Road, Common Lane and Mackerye End.

3. That length of Coles Lane, Flamstead/Harpenden from its junction with 2U1140 (unnamed road) south eastwards to its junction with Kennel Lane, a distance of approximately 570m.
An alternative route will be via: 2U1140 (unnamed road), A1081 London Road, Kinsbourne Green Lane and Kennel Lane.

4. That length of B556 Bell Lane, London Colney from the B556 Bell Lane roundabout south westwards to the B556 Harper Lane/B5378 Shenley Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 1133m.
An alternative route will be via: B556 Bell Lane, A1081 (Bell Link Overpass/London Colney Bypass), A414 North Orbital Road and B5378 Shenley Lane.
or via: B5378 Shenley Lane, Napsbury Lane, A414 North Orbital Road, A1081 (London Colney Bypass/Bell Link Overpass) and B556 Bell Lane.

5. That length of Ayres End Lane, Harpenden from its junction with A1081 Harpenden Road north eastwards to its junction with Ferrers Lane, a distance of approximately 1768m.
An alternative route will be via: A1081 Harpenden Road, Beech Road, B651 (St Albans Road/High Street/Wheathampstead Road) and Ferrers Lane.

6. That length of Potters Crouch Lane/Bedmond Lane, St Albans from its junction with Ragged Hall Lane north eastwards to its junction with A4147 Hemel Hempstead Road, a distance of approximately 2223m.
An alternative route will be via: Potters Crouch Lane, Bedmond Lane, St Albans Lane, Serge Hill Lane, Church Hill, Bedmond Road and A4147 (Leverstock Green Road/Hemel Hempstead Road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Chiswell Green Lane, St Albans) - Order No.3 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chiswell Green Lane, St Albans from its junction with St Stephen Public Footpath No.082 north eastwards for a distance of approximately 38m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Chiswell Green Lane, Furzebushes Lane, Ragged Hall Lane, B4630 Watford Road and Chiswell Green Lane.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 28 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 12 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Various Footpaths In Park Street) - Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath ("the Footpaths"):-
1. The footpath situated between No.30 Hazel Road and No.1 Hazel Close, Park Street from its junction with Hazel Road north eastwards to its junction with Birchwood Way, a distance of approximately 180m.
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the northeast side of Hazel Road, the footway situated on the northwest side of Park Street Lane, the footway situated on the southwest side of How Wood and the footway situated on the south side of Birchwood Way.

2. The footpath fronting Nos.21-27 Birchwood Way, Park Street from its junction with Birchwood Way westwards for a distance of approximately 64m.
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the southwest side of Birchwood Way and the footpath situated between No.30 Hazel Road and No.1 Hazel Close.

3. The footpath fronting Nos.31-43 Birchwood Way, Park Street from its northernmost junction with Birchwood Way south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 40m.
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the west side of Birchwood Way.

4. The footpath fronting Nos.30-36 Birchwood Way, Park Street from its northernmost junction with Birchwood Way south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 40m.
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the northeast side of Birchwood Way.

5. The footpath fronting Nos.55-75 Birchwood Way, Park Street from its northernmost junction with Birchwood Way south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m.
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the northwest side of Birchwood Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

The Order will come into effect from 28 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

(Temporary Closing Of Sandringham Crescent, St Albans) - Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sandringham Crescent, St Albans from its junction with Chiltern Road westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 250m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Chiltern Road, The Ridgeway, Marshalswick Lane, B651 St Albans Road and Sandringham Crescent.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 2 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Drovers Way, St Albans) - Order No.2 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Drovers Way, St Albans from a point 67m southwest of its junction with Adelaide Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 25m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Drovers Way, A4147 Catherine Street, Etna Road, Worley Road, Stapley Road, Upton Avenue, Russell Avenue and Drovers Way.
or via: Drovers Way, Russell Avenue, Britton Avenue, A5183 Verulam Road/Folly Lane, A4147 (Folly Lane/Catherine Street) and Drovers Way.

The Order is needed because electrical service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 28 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 10 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
