ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Cross Lane, Farnley & Wortley, Leeds 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because road closure and speed limit due to carriageway resurfacing and kerb reconstruction works being proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s), Leeds City Council has made an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Cross Lane, Leeds in the Farnley & Wortley Ward between its junctions with Tong Road and Upper Wortley Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Upper Wortley Road, Tong Road. The Order shall come into operation on Monday 21th September 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority (and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers) proposes to make the above Orders, the effect of which will be to introduce the proposed waiting and loading restrictions on sections of Burley Street, Park Lane, Hanover Way, Marlborough Street and Park Square West are necessary because the carriageway is being narrowed to accommodate new cycle infrastructure and improved pedestrian facilities Details of the proposals including plans showing the affected lengths of highway and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for the Orders are available on request by e-mailing the address below.
