(50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
National Highways Limited hereby gives notice that it has made an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A19 Trunk Road in the County of Cleveland.
The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 30th September 2026, will be to permanently impose a 50mph speed limit on the A19:
(i) northbound carriageway from 50 metres north of the exit slip road at Stockton Road Interchange to the entry slip road at Portrack Interchange, a distance of 2420 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from 50 metres north of the exit slip road at Portrack Interchange to 140 metres north of the entry slip road at Stockton Road Interchange, a distance of 2500 metres; and
(iii) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Portrack Interchange.
