Ushaw Moor - Temporary Road Closures due to Electric Cable Upgrade Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Station Road Rear and Ushaw Villas, Ushaw Moor) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road.
Station Road Rear: a 27 metre length to the front of the electric substation and Ushaw Villas: a 186 metre length from the rear of No. 1 to the side of No. 20 to enable electric cable upgrade works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic to the front of Station Road (C18).
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are required from 8am on Monday 12/10/2026 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
