Langrigg - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2009 AND C2010 LANGRIGG) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. C2009 Langrigg, from its junction with the C2002, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.1km.
Alternative Routes: via the unrestricted section of the C2009, B5301 and C2002 OR via the A596, C2046, and C2010.
Duration: From 20 October 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref: TTROC/19695)
2. C2010 Langrigg, from its junction with the C2002, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 830m.
Alternative Route: via the C2009, and C2002.
Duration: From 27 October 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/19724)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 20 October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
