This order is required because of carriageway reconstruction and will become operative on 19 October 2026, anticipated to be of 5 days. Work will take place between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

This order is required due to the installation of a pedestrian (Puffin) crossing, road surfacing and road marking works and will become operative on 12 October 2026 for 4 nights between 8pm and 6am. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule - Hildesheim Bridge, Weston-super-Mare (eastbound carriageway) from Station Approach Roundabout in a southeasterly direction for approximately 299m (12 to 13 October 2026). Hildesheim Bridge, Weston-super-Mare (westbound carriageway) for approximately 23m northwest of Drove Road Roundabout to Station Approach Roundabout (14 to 15 October 2026). Alternative routes - Francis Fox Road, Locking Road, Drove Road and vice-versa.

Temporary Prohibition of Waiting & Loading Order 2026

Date coming into force: 9 October 2026

Will be to temporarily prohibit waiting and loading to all vehicles on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and enforcement of the restrictions.

This order is required because of the need to implement measures for public safety and the facilitation of road works as part of the BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan) works being undertaken by North Somerset Council. This order will become operative on the 19 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months, however, the prohibition of waiting and loading may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the prohibition of waiting and loading will be from 19 October 2026 for a period of approximately 23 weeks. Appropriate traffic signs and/or road markings will be displayed when and where the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of the need to implement measures for public safety and the facilitation of road works as part of the BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan) works being undertaken by North Somerset Council. This order will become operative on 19 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that closures on Nutwell Road, Hill Road, Greenwood Road, Mendip Road and Lawrence Road will be of three days duration each and take place within the next 18 weeks. The closure on High Street and The Maltings, Worle will take place in March 2027 and is anticipated to be at night only from 8pm to 6am for approximately four weeks. The extents of the closures will vary from time to time and residents should discuss their access with operatives on site as necessary. Appropriate traffic signs and/or road markings will be displayed when and where the measures are in force.

Temporary One-Way Traffic Movement Order 2026

Date coming into force: 28 September 2026

Will be to create, temporarily, a one way restriction which will not permit any vehicle to proceed in the length of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule in a direction other than that specified in column 2 of the said Schedule. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for any North Somerset Council vehicle enforcing the restrictions and for any vehicle with agreed dispensation from North Somerset Council undertaking emergency work.

This order was required in the interest of public safety and to facilitate road works and will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works at the Churchill Traffic lights which is anticipated to be of 27 weeks in duration.
