The U6133 Highlands and Highfields - Temporary Closure to Facilitate the Installation of a Fibre Network
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6133 HIGHLANDS AND HIGHFIELDS, LAKENHEATH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
• U6133 Highlands, Lakenheath
• U1633 Highfields, Lakenheath from the junction with The Firs for 45 metres northbound.
This is to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Highfields, Cemetery Road, Mill Road, the B1112, Broom Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/10/2026 -13/10/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
