What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, EDWINSTOWE, WELLOW AND OLLERTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (N26-390)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Edwinstowe, Wellow and Ollerton in the District of Newark & Sherwood.The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. A616 Newark Road, Wellow - its entire length
b. A616 Wellow Road, Ollerton - From its junction with Newark Road and Rufford Lane for 500 metres in north westerly direction.s
c. A6075 Mansfield Road, Edwinstowe - From its junction with B6035 Forest Road, Warsop and Peafield Lane, Warsop for 3500 in a westerly direction.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours, Saturday, 03 October 2026
Until 06:00 hours, Thursday, 15 October 2026 inclusive.
It is intended that these restrictions will be used on individual occasions from 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours as works are undertaken during the period specified above.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
For A6075 Mansfield Road, Edwinstowe: A6075 - A60 - A6009 - A6191 - A617 - A616 and vice versaFor A616 Newark Road and Wellow Road, Wellow and Ollerton - A616 - A614 - A1 - A46 and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Saturday, 03 October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Ace Highways Limited to carry out vegetation management
