TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE BUS LANE ON THE A1071 WOODBRIDGE ROAD EAST, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the Bus Lane on the A1071 Woodbridge Road East, Ipswich to facilitate tree trimming. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 24/09/2026. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C671 HUNDON ROAD, KEDINGTON
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C671 Hundon Road, Kedington from 45 metres east of Dash End Lane for 25 metres eastbound to facilitate electrical works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Clare Road, Lower Road, Valley Wash, Chimney Street, Barnardiston Road, Hundon Road, Greys Lane, the A143, the B1061 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on:
? From 8am on 03/10/2026 until 4pm on 04/10/2026
? 05/10/2026 from 9.30am - 2.30pm
? 10/10/2026 from 8am - 6pm
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C556 THE STREET, BADWELL ASH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C556 The Street, Badwell Ash from Medler Cottage for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate laying ducting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Badwell Road, The Causeway, Ixworth Road, the C645 from Walsham Road to Ixworth Road, Walsham Road, Woolpit Road, Stow Lane, Ixworth Road, The Street, Hunston Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/10/2026 - 04/10/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (WEST END ROAD) (A137) (BUS LANE) ORDER 2026
On 16/09/2026 Suffolk County Council made the above Order under Sections 1 and 2, 4, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to:
? Introduce a new prohibition of motor vehicles except buses, cycles, motorcycles and taxis, on West End Road (A137) on its southwest side from a point 25 metres east of its junction with Sir Alf Ramsey Way (128/06117 - 5U5090/10) in a north-westerly direction for a total distance of 367 metres.
Exemptions to the bus only road include emergency services, statutory undertakers and building and maintenance vehicles are assumed to be exempt unless we are instructed otherwise. Cycles, solo motorcycles and taxis are admitted to use the bus lane.
This Order seeks to replicate the experimental restrictions of the provisions of the Suffolk County Council (Ipswich) (West End Road) (Bus Lane) (Experimental and Revocation) Order 2023, save that the total length of the bus lane has been shortened by thirty-five metres and solo motorcycles will also be permitted to use the bus lane.
A copy of the Order, which comes into effect on 30/09/2026, may be seen with advance notice at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, 9am - 6pm Monday; 9am - 7pm Tuesday; 9am - 6pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 8.30am - 5pm Saturday; and 10am - 4pm Sunday; excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
