TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A

KING GEORGES DRIVE SUGAR AND SPICE FESTIVAL PORT SUNLIGHT

SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

Whereas Wirral Borough Council are satisfied that the use of the roads listed below should be restricted to facilitate the above special event and to enable it to take place safely.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under s16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on this road intends to make an Order in the following terms:

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:

King George’s Drive, Port Sunlight from its junction of Windy Bank to its junction with The Causeway and Windy Bank from its junction with Church Drive to its junction with King Georges Drive, Port Sunlight.

The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral King George’s Drive Sugar and Spice Festival Port Sunlight Special Event Order 2025 and shall come into operation from the 3 October from 7am to 6pm and apply on that day only.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A 2026 WIRRAL 10K SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

WHEREAS Wirral Borough Council (“the Council”) are satisfied that traffic that it is necessary to restrict traffic on the lengths of highway set out below for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event, namely the 2026 Wirral 10K, and enabling members of the public to participate and view that event in safety.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under s16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on these roads intends to make an Order in the following terms:

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:

King’s Parade from its most easterly junction with Portland Street in a westerly direction to its junction with the projection of Sandcliffe Road

Coastal Drive from its most easterly junction with King’s Parade in a westerly direction to its junction with Sandcliffe Road

In Fraser Walk for its entire length

The Fort Perch Rock access road not including the access to the Fort Perch Rock Car Park

Marine Promenade from its junction with Floral Pavilion roundabout in a south easterly direction to its junction with Tower Promenade

Tower Promenade for its entire length

Magazines Promenade for its entire length

Egremont Promenade for its entire length

Sandon Promenade for its entire length

Seacombe Promenade for its entire length

Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative routes for diverted vehicular traffic will be signed accordingly. The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Wirral Borough Council 2026 Wirral 10K Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation on the 11 October 2026 and apply from 05:00am until 14:00 pm on that day only.
