ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CLIFTON ROAD, SHEFFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clifton Road, Shefford outside number 38.

This temporary closure is required to enable dig and investigation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 14 October 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure will be via Shefford Rd, A507, Hitchin Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(SANDY ROAD, POTTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sandy Road, Potton outside number 100.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 to 30 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B1042, High St, Bedford Rd, A1, A6001, B1040 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of St Neots Road, Sandy between number 184 and side of 175b.

This temporary closure is required to enable ducting and cabling work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 to 30 September 2026 between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A1, Bedford Rd and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 28 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 29 September 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A1, A421, A603 and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 29 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(COXS WAY, ARLESEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Coxs Way, Arlesey outside number 30.

This temporary closure is required to enable New Electrical Connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 8 October 2026 for 24hrs a day. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.
