ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR AND MAIDENHEAD
(FOOTPATH 19 MAIDENHEAD) (PART) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above named Order, made on 22 September 2026, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A (2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will, if confirmed as made, divert part of public footpath 19 Maidenhead and modify the definitive map and statement as shown on the Order map.
The section of footpath subject to the Order run over land north of the Summerleaze site, Maidenhead and west of Lower Cookham Road. The grid references of the start and finish points of the sections of footpath proposed to be diverted are: 489018, 183220 and 489342, 183651, respectively.
A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1QU during normal opening hours. Copies of the Order and the map may be bought there.
Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to Public Rights of Way team, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 1RF, or emailed to Sharon.wootten@rbwm.gov.uk not later than 23 October 2026, and respondents are requested to state the grounds on which the objections or representations are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If objections are received and are not withdrawn, they will become available for public inspection when the matter is re-considered by the Borough’s Rights of Way and Highways Licensing Panel.
The Order may then be submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, and any representations or
objections that have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
