EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
(THIS STATEMENT DOES NOT FORM PART OF THE ORDER)
The above-named Order made on 22 September 2026 will permanently divert 432 metres of Footpath 19 Maidenhead.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead decided to make the above Order as it considered it to meet the necessary legal criteria under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The diversion is expedient to the landowner and does not negatively affect the enjoyment of the path.
The standard and width of the new path surface is superior to the existing. In addition, under a separate legal process and dependent on the diversion being made, the landowner will dedicate a new public footpath over an existing permitted path route, strengthening the network in the area.
