ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF BOTH HOWDEN ROAD & SKELTON BROAD LANE, SKELTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of Howden Road, Skelton from its junction with the road to warehouses to the East of Ferry Road, Kilpin Pike southbound for approximately 1150 metres and part of Skelton
Broad Lane from its junction with Howden Road eastbound for approximately 720 metres commencing 21 October 2026 at 08.00 hours until 27 October 2026 at 17.00 hours for the purposes of installing ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on behalf of Quickline Communications. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within seven days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
• North along Mill Lane, Main Street, Howdendyke Road and road to warehouses to the East of Ferry Road.
• South along Skelton Broad Lane, road from Hazelcrofts Bridge to Moorfields Lane, Moorfields Lane, Sarah Rhodes Lane and Howden Road, Skelton PC, Howdenshire Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The roads will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents,
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
