(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF BOTH WESTFIELD LANE AND CHURCH LANE, HOOK
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of both Westfield Lane and Church Lane, Hook from a property called The Acres, Church Lane westbound for a distance of approximately 1200 metres onto Westfield Lane commencing 12 October 2026 until 16 October 2026 between
09.30 hours and 15.30 hours weekdays.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed cabling works on behalf of Openreach, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within five days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Westfield Lane, Hook Lane, A614
Boothferry Road Roundabout, A614 Boothferry Road, A614 Airmyn Road, Mariners Street, Coronation Street, Stanhope Street, Clock Tower Roundabout, North Street, Hook Road, Goole Road, High Street and Church Lane, Airmyn CP, Hook CP, Goole CP, Goole South Ward, Snaith, Airmyn, Rawcliffe and Marshland Ward, Goole North Ward.
The roads will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. The Order will commence 12 October 2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
