North Street, Havant - Temporary taxi rank due to works

What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to allow works to be carried out on or near a road.    
TEMPORARY TAXI RANK: The existing limited waiting parking bay on the eastern side of North Street, Havant, between Waterloo Road and Prince Geroge Street will be suspended and a prohibition of stopping at any time except by taxis will be introduced.    
DURATION OF ORDER: From 12 October 2026 for a period of 18 months, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding this, it is anticipated that the restriction will be required for no longer than 12 months.    
REASONS FOR RESTRICTIONS The temporary prohibition of stopping except by taxis on North Street is required to accommodate displaced taxi operations during works associated with the replacement of Havant Footbridge and the temporary closure of taxi facilities within the Havant Railway Station area.
