London Borough of Southwark - Fair Street - temporary prohibition of traffic

LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) (FAIR STREET)

(TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN)
 
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable utility works by Thames Water or it’s appointed contractor, it intends to make an order, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicles turning right from St Johns Estate access road onto Fair Street.

2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are in place no person shall cause any vehicle to turn right from St Johns Estate access road onto Fair Street.

3. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works. 

4. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. 

5. The road closure will be in place between the 30th of October and the 1st of November 2026.

6. The diversion route is expected to be; Fair Street, Tower Bridge Road, Abbey Street, Jamaica Road, Shad Thames, Queen Elizabeth Street, Tower Bridge Road, Tooley Street.
