Somerset - Temporary Road Closure due to Cabling Recovery & Gully Sucking Works

Somerset Council Parishes of Winsford, Withielackington and Upton Temporary Closure of The Beacon, Mill Lane To Old Road and Mill Lane To Old Way Gate

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: The Beacon - from the junction with The Heights, northwards incorporating Mill Lane To Old Road and Mill Lane To Old Way Gate to the junction with Old Way. A total distance of 2630 metres. This Order will enable Openreach to carry out heavy cabling recovery and gully sucking works.

The Order becomes effective on 7th October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 12th October 2026 and last until 14th October 2026 between the hours of 20:00 - 06:00 for a total of 2 nights.
