(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Left and Right Turns from Stockport Road onto Hibbert Lane, Marple, at the junction of Stockport Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow cable recovery works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 2 days.
The following diversions will be provided: Diversion 1 - Stockport Road, Oldknow Road, Arkwright Road, Station Road, Church Lane, Diversion 2 - Stockport Road, Church Lane. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles.
This Order is to come into operation on 26 October 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/19406316/11
