TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C661 OLD POST OFFICE ROAD, CHEVINGTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C661 Old Post Office Road, Chevington from the junction with Chedburgh Road for 40 metres eastbound to facilitate electrical pole maintenance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Chedburgh Road, Chevington Road, The Street, The A143, Brookes Corner, Weathercock Hill and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 22/09/2026 from 9am - 1pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE U5528 WINTHROP ROAD, BURY ST EDMUNDS
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5528 Winthrop Road, Bury St Edmunds from no. 83 for 30 metres westbound to facilitate water remedial repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Langton Road, Abbot Road, Winthrop Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/09/2026 - 24/09/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3305 LOWER ROAD, GRUNDISBURGH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3305 Lower Road, Grundisburgh from the junction with The Driftway for 50 metres westbound to facilitate works on overhead telecommunications structure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Park Road, Ipswich Road, Rose Hill, The Street, The Green, the B1079 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 22/09/2026 from 9.30am - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 7, DALHAM
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Footpath 7, Dalham from the junction with Brick Wood for 1500 metres northbound to facilitate harvesting and tree felling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
The diversion route will be from Brick Kiln Wood to Desning Hall to Blue Button Wood and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/10/2026 - 31/03/2027 (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3203 Church Lane, Levington from no. 2 for 200 metres eastbound to facilitate cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C205 Pitmans Grove, Bramfield from number 1 to number 16 to facilitate access to overhead and underground telecommunications structures. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be the A12, the A144 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/10/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF BARHAM) (NORWICH ROAD)
(C492) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026
On 16th September 2026 Suffolk County Council made the above Order for the District of Ipswich under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to introduce:
• A 30-mph speed limit to:
• Both sides of Norwich Road (C492), to extend the existing 30mph speed limit a further 272m north, into the existing 40mph.
A copy of the Order, which comes into effect on 23/09/2026, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library between the hours of 9am - 6pm on Monday, 9am - 7pm Tuesday, 9am - 6pm Wednesday, 9am - 6pm Thursday, 9am - 7pm Friday, 8.30am - 5pm Saturday and 10am - 4pm Sunday.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.51) ORDER 2026
On 16th September 2026 Suffolk County Council made the above Order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 2 of Map Tile G0124 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:
“No waiting at any time” on:
• Both sides of Toller Road, Ipswich (U2009), for the entire length which is approximately 88 metres. Remove limited waiting approx. 15 metres both sides at its junction with Cliff Road (B1458)
• East side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), from the centre of the junction with Toller Road, for approximately 50 metres in a southerly direction
• West side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), at a point 15 metres north of its junction with Toller Road for a distance of 15 metres
• Both sides of Ship Launch Road, Ipswich (U2007), from its junction with Cliff Road to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Helena Road, a distance of approximately 93 metres
• West side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), across the junction of Ship Launch Road, starting 9.5 metres south of the centre of the junction and then going north for a distance of 18 metres
• East side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), from opposite Ship Launch Road for a distance of 5.5 metres, at the southern side of the access to a private property
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.
A copy of the Order, which comes into effect on 23/09/2026, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE during Monday: 9am - 6pm, Tuesday: 9am - 7pm, Wednesday: 9am - 6pm, Thursday: 9am - 6pm, Friday: 9am - 7pm, Saturday: 8.30am - 5pm and Sunday: 10am - 4pm.
