THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT 

(CARRINGTON ROAD, PORTWOOD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (REVOCATION) NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 15 September 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which came into operation on 16 September 2026. 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time at Carrington Road, Portwood - South Side : From the intersection of the south eastern kerb line of Offerton Street for a distance of 80 metres in a westerly direction. Carrington Road, Portwood - South Eastern Side: From the intersection of the south eastern kerb line of Werneth Street, for a distance of 43 metres in a south easterly direction. 

Revoke No Waiting at Any Time: Carrington Road, Portwood - South Side : From the intersection of the western kerb line of Offerton Street, for a distance of 63 metres in a westerly direction. 

Revoke No Waiting and No Loading Monday - Saturday 7.00am - 9.30am & 4.00pm - 6.00pm: Carrington Road, Portwood - South Eastern Side - From the intersection of the eastern kerb line of Werneth Street, for a distance of 43 metres in a south easterly direction. 

A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. 

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
