Temporary Speed Limit Order 2026

On 23 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: – 1. Impose a maximum speed limit of 30mph in: – a) The entire length of the carriageway that is comprised within the roundabout at the junction of B3228 West Street, A325 Wrecclesham Road, A31 Farnham By-Pass and A31 Alton Road, Farnham “the A31 Coxbridge Roundabout”. b) That length of A31 Farnham By-Pass and A31 Alton Road, Farnham (westbound carriageway) that extends from a point 500m east of its junction with “the A31 Coxbridge Roundabout”, to a point 50m west of its junction with A31 Coxbridge Roundabout. c) That length of A31 Farnham By-Pass and A31 Alton Road, Farnham (eastbound carriageway) that extends from a point 500m west of its junction with “the A31 Coxbridge Roundabout”, to a point 50m east of its junction with A31 Coxbridge Roundabout.

2. “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Farnham) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2023” shall be suspended insofar as imposes a speed limit of 50mph in the lengths of A31 Coxbridge Roundabout, A31 Farnham By-Pass and A31 Alton Road, Farnham described in

1. a), b) and c) above.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out traffic signal refurbishment and/or repair and/or maintenance and/or highway works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 2 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary suspensions and speed limits will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limits imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police.

Wellington Lane (D5348) Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Wellington Lane (D5348) Farnham as extends from its junction with (A325) Farnborough Road to its junction with (D5348) The Fairway; and (b) Suspend any One-Way Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of road described in (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Wellington Lane, Upper Weybourne Lane, and (A325) Farnborough Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of Durkin and Sons. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and suspension, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Weybourne Road (B3007) and Monkton Lane (B3367) Farnham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:- 1. Weybourne Road (B3007) Farnham as extends from its junction with Monkton Lane (B3367) to its junction with A325 at Hale Roundabout; and 2. Monkton Lane (B3367) Farnham as extends from its junction with Weybourne Road (B3007) to a point 50 metres southeast of this junction.

Alternative route – 1. A325 (Farnborough Road), B3208 (Water Lane) and B3367 (Monkton Lane), or this route in reverse. 2. B3367 (Monkton Lane), B3208 (Water Lane), A325 (Farnborough Road) and B3007 (Weybourne Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate raised table installation and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained when it is safe to do so. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Public Footpath 96 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 01 October 2026 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 96 (Farnham) which extends for 88 metres from its junction with Bear Lane (Grid ref: 484001 147060) to its junction with Lower South View (Grid ref: 484071 147109).

The order is necessary for public safety to enable reinforcement of the high voltage electrical network. The closure will be in operation for a period of one month from 05 October 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the western end of closure will be: north-west via Bear Lane, north-east via High Park Road, south-east via Upper South View and south-east via Lower South View. Total length of alternative route: 498 metres.

The alternative route for traffic from the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 96 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” will be made by the county council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
