Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 1BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow water mains repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne from 12th October 2026 with estimated completion by 14th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Jubilee Street and Watsons Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Charlotte Street, Millen Road, B2006 St Pauls Street, Chalkwell Road, Watsons Hill, Charlotte Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Charlotte Street & Jubilee Street, Sittingbourne (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow vegetation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charlotte Street & Jubilee Street, Sittingbourne from 15th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed between the junctions with Redgrove Avenue and Watsons Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Redgrove Drive, Lywood Drive, Charlotte Street, B2006 St Paul’s Street, Chalkwell Road, Watson’s Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Doddington Lane, Doddington, ME9 0AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Doddington Lane, Doddington from 29th September 2026 with estimated completion by 30th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the M2 overbridge and the junction with Chequers Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Christopher Row, The Street, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street, Chequers Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Fulston Place, Sittingbourne, ME10 4UX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Fulston Place, Sittingbourne from 12th October 2026, with estimated completion by 16th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 29a, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lynsted Lane, Lynsted, ME9 9RR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow duct installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lynsted Lane, Lynsted from 12th October 2026, with estimated completion by 14th October 2026 or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with A2 London Road and number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street, Chequers Hill, Doddington Lane, Christophers Row, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 2ND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne from 18th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hythe Road, Chalkwell Road, Staplehurst Road Roundabout, B2006 Staplehurst Road, Bobbing Interchange Roundabout, Sheppey Way, Key Street Roundabout, A2 Key Street, London Road, Staplehurst Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Lane, Hartlip. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Hartlip from 28th September 2026, with estimated completion by 9th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 40m from the motorway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Matts Hill Lane, Yaugher Lane, Meresborough Lane, Place Lane, Warren Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Faversham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026
To allow the Faversham Carnival Parade to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic and temporarily suspending the One-Way Order on various roads in Faversham from 17th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 13:00 and 21:30, or until the event is complete.
Event Schedule
The following roads will be closed in preparation for the parade, in the vicinities stated below to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site:
William Street, Chapel Street & Park Road will be closed between the hours of 13:00 and 19:30, in their entirety.
B2040 Whitstable Road will be closed between the hours of 15:00 and 19:30 from the junction with Millfield Road to the junction with B2040 East Street.
Jubilee Way will be closed between the hours of 15:00 and 19:30, at the junction with B2040 Whitstable Road.
The following roads will be closed between the hours of 17:00 and 21:30, in the vicinities stated below to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site: The roads will be reopened in phases as the parade passes through.
B2040 East Street will be closed between the junctions with B2040 Whitstable Road and Newton Road.
B2041 Newton Road will be closed in its entirety.
B2041 Station Road will be closed between the junctions with Newton Road and Preston Street.
Preston Street will be closed in its entirety.
Market Street will be closed in its entirety.
Market Place will be closed in its entirety.
Court Street will be closed in its entirety.
B2040 Quay Lane will be closed in its entirety.
B2040 Conduit Street will be closed in its entirety.
B2040 North Lane will be closed in its entirety.
B2040 South Road will be closed in its entirety.
Stone Street will be closed in its entirety.
The One-Way Order on the following roads will be suspended for the duration of the event:
Preston Street between the junctions with Stone Street to East Street.
Market Street
Market Place
Court Street to the junction of B2040 Crescent Road.
Various Roads, Warden & Eastchurch (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow water mains installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic and pedestrians on part of various roads throughout Warden and Eastchurch. This order takes effect on or after 29th September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration.
Closures
The following closures will be closed to extent indicated by signs are barriers on site.
Beach Approach, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety, in phases:
Phase 1 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Cliff View Gardens.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jetty Road, Imperial Drive, Emerald View, Cliff View Gardens and vice versa.
Phase 2 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Cliff View Gardens and Thorn Hill Road.
There is no alternative route for this phase, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Bramley Way, Eastchurch
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Church Road, Eastchurch
The road will be closed between the junctions with High Street and Rowetts Way.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A2500 Lower Road and B2231 Rowetts Way. Residential access for Church Road will be maintained.
The One-Way Order on Church Road will be suspended between the junctions with High Street and Rowetts Way.
Imperial Drive, Warden
The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Emerald View, in phases:
Phase 1 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Waterside View.
Phase 2 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Waterside View and Emerald View.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jetty Road, Beach Approach, Cliff View Gardens, Emerald View and vice versa.
Jetty Road, Warden
The road will be closed between the junctions with Beach Approach and Imperial Drive.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Imperial Drive, Emerald View, Cliff View Gardens, Beach Approach and vice versa.
Leicester Gardens, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Manor Way, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Melody Close, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Seasalter Close, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.

Phase 2 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Plough Road and High Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A2500 Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Plough Road and vice versa.
Waterside View, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Emerald View, Warden
Pedestrians will be prohibited from using the footpath between the junctions with Emerald View and Waterside View.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via Waterside View, Imperial Drive, Emerald View and vice versa.
Pedestrians will be prohibited from using the footpath between the junctions with Emerald View and Melody Close.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via Melody Close, Emerald View and vice versa.
