What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SEVENOAKS AREA
B2173 London Road, Swanley, BR8 8DE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of National Highways Ltd joint works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2173 London Road, Swanley, on or after 30th September 2026 for up to 4 nights between 21.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Wested Lane to Searles Court.
The alternative route is via B2173 London Road, B258 High Street, B2173 Bartholomew Way, B2173 Maidstone Road, A223, Edginton Way, A20 Sidcup By Pass Road, A20 Swanley Bypass, M25 Junction 3 and vice versa.
B2173 London Road, Swanley, BR8 8DE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of carriageway resurfacing and road markings, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2173 London Road, Swanley, on or after 13th October 2026 for up to 3 nights between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
B2173 London Road will be closed between Salisbury Avenue which will be blocked off and number 42 B2173 London Road.
Manse Way entrance will be blocked, residents will be able to access using Manse Parade adjacent to the shops overnight.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2173 London Road, A20 London Road, A225 Dartford Road, A225 Main Road, A225 Hawley Road, Oakfield Lane, Layton Cross Road, Birchwood Road, B2173 Maidstone Road, B2173 Bartholomew Way, B2173 High Street, B2173 London Road and vice versa.
B2176 Station Hill, Chiddingstone Causeway, TN11 8JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2176 Station Hill, Chiddingstone Causeway, on or after 28th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Watermans.
The alternative route is via B2176 Moorden Lane, B2027 Tonbridge Road, Penshurst Lane, Penshurst Road and vice versa.
Bitchet Green Road, Seal, TN15 0NB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of drainage cleansing, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bitchet Green Road, Seal, on or after 13th October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between The Coppice and Rooks Hill and Blakes Green Road.
The alternative route is via Blakes Green Road, Stone Street, Hall Hill, Grove Road, Park Lane and vice versa.
Greenwood Way, Sevenoaks, TN13 2LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of full depth carriageway reconstruction works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Greenwood Way, Sevenoaks, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 50 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from property number 3 to the end of the cul de sac.
There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.
Hartley Bottom Road, Hartley, DA3 8LJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hartley Bottom Road, Hartley, on or after 29th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Hartley Hill.
The alternative route is via Hartley Bottom Road, North Ash Road, Ash Road, Hartley Road, B260 Main Road and vice versa.
Hodsoll Street, Hodsoll Street, TN15 7LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hodsoll Street, Hodsoll Street, on or after 28th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside 5 Park View.
The alternative route is via Hodsoll Street, Rosemary Lane, Chapmans Hill, Bunkers Hill Road, Ridley Hill, Pease Hill, Haven Hill and vice versa.
How Green Lane, Hever, TN8 7NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of UK Power Networks works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of How Green Lane, Hever, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside The Cottage.
The alternative route is via Hever Road, B2027 Chequers Hill, B2027 Clinton Lane, How Green Lane and vice versa.
Knockholt Road, Halstead, TN14 7EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Thames Water Utilities works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Knockholt Road, Halstead, on or after 17th October 2026 for up to 16 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Jasmine Cottages.
The alternative route is via Knockholt Road, Halstead Lane, Main Road, Old London Road, Star Hill Road, A224 Polhill, A224 London Road, Shoreham Lane and vice versa.
Lingfield Road, Edenbridge, TN8 5HW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lingfield Road, Edenbridge, on or after 2nd October 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Skeynes Road, westwards for approx. 1980m.
The alternative route is via Lingfield Road, B2026 Mont St Aignan Way/High Street/Mill Hill, B2028 Marsh Green Road/Moor Lane/Racecourse Road, Station Road, Crowhurst Road, Haxted Road and vice versa.
Main Road, Knockholt, TN14 7NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a new electric connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Main Road, Knockholt, on or after 4th October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Crittleshaw.
The alternative route is via Cudham Lane South, Cudham Lane North, A21 Sevenoaks Road, Rushmore Hill, Main Road and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way West, Dunton Green, TN14 5JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a new customer service , Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way West, Dunton Green, on or after 18th October 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Ivy House Lane and Twitton Lane.
The alternative route is via High Street - A225 Sevenoaks Road - A225 Otford Road - A25 Bradbourne Vale Road - A25 Maidstone Road - A224 London Road - London Road and vice versa.
Various Roads, Sevenoaks, TN13 3DT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of gas main replacement works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Various Roads, Sevenoaks, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 18 months or until the works have been completed.
Shoreham Lane will be closed at the junction with A224 Amherst Hill.
Lyndhurst Drive will be closed at the junction with to outside number 2 Britains Lane.
Brittains Lane will be closed at the junction with A224 Amherst Hill to Lyndhurst Drive.
Braeside Avenue will be closed at the junction with A224 London Road.
The alternative route for Shoreham Lane is via Shoreham Lane, A25 Maidstone Road, A25 London Road, A224 Amherst Hill and vice versa.
The alternative route for Brittains Lane is via Brittains Lane, Oak Lane, A225 High Street, A224 London Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for Lyndhurst Drive is via Lyndhurst Drive and vice versa.
The alternative route for Braeside Avenue is via Braeside Avenue, Brittains Lane, A224 London Road and vice versa.
