TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

(NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order in respect of the following:

BAKERS ROAD FOOTPATH BETWEEN 49 AND 51 TO WINGFIELD ROAD from its junction with Bakers Road for 30m north-westwards to facilitate utility cover repair works between 10:30 and 17:00 on the 29th September 2026 (may continue until 10th November 2026). Alternative route is via: Bakers Road Footpath East Side Of 7 To Oak Street, Oak Street, Bakers Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

DIDBEN ROAD from 50m east of its junction with Crome Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate building development works from 21st September 2026 to 17th October 2028. Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council, and the Order is made under s14(1) and s15(2) of the RTRA 1984.

MOUSEHOLD STREET from its junction with Silver Road to its junction with Brewers Court to facilitate electrical service installation works from 23rd to 30th September 2026 (may continue until 11th November 2026). Alternative route is via: Mousehold Street, St James Close, Barrack Street, Silver Road. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/ footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT), but may also be extended further by the Secretary of State.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
