What is happening?
The City of Edinburgh Council
(Polwarth Terrace area) (Temporary Road
Restriction and Traffic Regulation) Order 2026 –
TemP/26/152
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate footway and carriageway resurfacing and traffic signal upgrade works, no person shall:
(a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on any part of; and
(b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on any part of:
(i) Polwarth Ter, from the extended south-west kerbline of Ashley Ter, south-westwards for 55m;
(ii) Polwarth Ter, from the extended north-east kerbline of Ashley Ter, northeastwards for 50m;
(iii) ashley Ter, from the extended northwest kerbline of Polwarth Ter, northwestwards for 65m; &
(iv) gray’s ln, from the extended south-east kerbline of Polwarth Ter, southeastwards for 60m.
Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described.
The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the closures will be by way of:
(i) Ashley Ter, Harrison Gdns, Harrison Rd, Gillsland Rd, Spylaw Rd & Gray’s Ln; and
(ii) Polwarth Ter, Colinton Rd, Gillsland Rd & Polwarth Ter.
The Order shall have effect from 21/09/26 to 27/12/26.
