A2 TRUNK ROAD (WHITFIELD ROUNDABOUT – HONEYWOOD INTERCHANGE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-

a) both carriageways of the A2 between Whitfield Roundabout (A256 west) and Honeywood Interchange (A256 east);
b) the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A2 at Honeywood Interchange (A256 east); and
c) the road leading to the westbound carriageway of the A2 at Honeywood Interchange (A256 east).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge refurbishment works and all associated works.

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 5 days starting on or after Monday 19th October 2026. The overnight closures would take place between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours.

The Order would come into force on 17th October 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A2, A256 and A299.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
