Westmorland & Furness - Temporary Traffic Restrictions due to Highway Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (SYCAMORE AVENUE, RAKE LANE AND THE U5124 ROSSIDE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to;
1. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of Sycamore Avenue, Ulverston (north side) from a point approx. 65 metres north east of its junction with Lime Tree Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 15 metres.
Duration: From 5th October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/20293)
2. Prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that section of the;
(i) Rake Lane, Ulverston, from its junction with Priory Road (A5087), extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with Lime Tree Road.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Rake Lane, Mountbarrow Road, Oakwood Drive and Priory Road (A5087).
Duration: From 5th October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/20293)
(ii) U5124 Rosside, from a point approx. 170 metres south west of its junction with the U5578, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 90 metres.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5124, U5123 and the U5578.
Duration: From 23rd November 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/20615)

The Order will come into operation on 5th October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
