Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Middle Lane, Melksham Without; from its junction with Top Lane to its junction with Corsham Road to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas mains replacement and associated works. Alternative route via Corsham Road – Top Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required until 30 October 2026. B) C360 (Part), Warminster; from its property known as No.24 Westbury Road to its property known as No.27 Westbury Road to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and other associated works. Alternative route via C360 (unaffected length) – B3089 – A350 – C360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 2 nights. E) C395 (Part), Melksham Without; from its junction with Semington Road for a distance of approximately 5m in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via C395 (unaffected length) – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 21 October 2026 weeknights only. Phase 2: School Lane, Westbury; from its junction with Westbury Leigh Road for its entire length to enable Caltec Ltd to carry out a new foul and storm connections and associated works. No alternative route is available. The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order which previously came into operation on 12 January 2026 will now recommence on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order has a maximum duration of 18 months. C) Footpath 11 (Part), Warminster; from its junction with Alcock Crest for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction to enable Kore Construction Ltd to carry out a new foul connection via open excavation and associated works. Alternative route B via Alcock Crest (unaffected length) – Factory Lane and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation as follows: A) 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required until 06 November 2026. B) 09 November 2026 and the closure will be required until 04 December 2026. C) 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required until 04 December 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.
