What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROAD, SCARRINGTON, HAWKSWORTH & SIBTHORPE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (R26-239)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Scarrington, Hawksworth & Sibthorpe in the Borough of Rushcliffe
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Hawksworth Road, Scarrington - From its junction with Longmoor Lane, Scarrington to its junction with Scarrington Road, Hawksworth.
b. Scarrington Road, Hawksworth - From its junction with Hawksworth Road, Scarrington to its junction with Main Road, Sibthorpe.
c. Main Road, Sibthorpe - From its junction with Scarrington Road, Hawksworth to its junction with Sibthorpe Road, Hawksworth.
d. Sibthorpe Road, Hawksworth - From its junction with Main Road, Sibthorpe to its junction with Longhedge Lane, Sibthorpe.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From Monday 05th October 2026
Until Sunday 14th February 2027 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Longhedge Lane, Sibthorpe - Longhedge Lane, Shelton - Shelton Road, Thoroton - Main Street, Thoroton - Thoroton Road, Thoroton - Cliffhill Lane, Aslockton - Longmoor Lane, Orston - Longmoor Lane, Scarrington - Vice Versa
The Order will come into force on 05th October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out mains replacement works.
