Westmorland and Furness - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Highway Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(B5285 HAWKSHEAD AND THE U5215 OXEN PARK)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to;

Prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that section of the B5285 Hawkshead, from a point approx. 1.1 km south east of its junction with the U5025, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 625 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5285, C5027 and the C5026. Duration: From 5th October 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/20725)

Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U5215 Oxen Park, from a point approx. 325 metres south of its junction with the U5214, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 215 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5215, U5203, U5216, C5024, C5023 and the C5022. Duration: From 8th October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/20726)

The Order will come into operation on 5th October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
