FOOTWAY CONVERSION TO UNSEGREGATED SHARED USE AREA, PICCADILLY
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Manchester proposes to exercise its powers under the Highways Act 1980 ("the Act") to alter footways in the Mayfield area.
Under section 65(1) of the Act, it is proposed to convert a length of footway to a Segregated Cycle Track on: London Road, east side from 41m northwest of its junction with Baring Street, southeasterly for 143m.
Under section 66(4) of the Act, it is proposed to convert a length of footway to an Unsegregated Shared Use Area for Pedestrians and Cyclists on: Baring Street, north side from London Road, easterly and then northerly for a distance of 120 metres.
A plan showing the proposals and a Statement of Reasons for this scheme can be requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or examined in person by appointment at the Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm.
Objections to the proposals must be sent in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or to the address below, stating the grounds on which they are made, no later than 16th October 2026.
