THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BRINDLEY AVENUE, MARPLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Brindley Avenue, Marple, between the junctions of Turner Road and Hibbert Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow electrical connection works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 9 days. The following diversions will be provided: Diversion 1 - Brindley Avenue, Church Lane, and Hibbert Lane. Diversion 2 - Hibbert Lane, Stockport Road, Church Lane, and Brindley Avenue. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Order is to come into operation on 12 October 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
