Public Notices - Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1)
1. Notice Is Hereby Given that THE COUNCIL OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON on 14 September 2026 made the following Order: The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 56) Order 2026 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.
2. The general effect of the Order which will come into force 21 September 2026 is as follows: -
(a) Introduce/extend no waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in:
(i) Elmwood Close adjacent No. 238a London Road; and
(ii) Westcroft Road outside Nos. 47, 53 and between Nos. 24 and 26
(b) introduce waiting restrictions (single yellow lines) operating Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 9:30am and 2:30pm to 4:00pm in Stanley Way outside Nos. 1 to 31.
Please note that the following proposals, which were originally published in the London Gazette on 5 March 2026; have been withdrawn.
(a) introduce no loading/unloading ‘at any time’ (double kerb blips) in Wandle Side at its junction with London Road;
(b) Introduce/extend no waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in:
(i) Bond Gardens adjacent No. 19 and certain lengths outside Peppermint Court
(c) introduce a limited time parking bay operating Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:30pm, 1 hour maximum stay no return within 2 hours in Wandle Side adjacent to No. 270 London Road.
3. From 21 September 2026, Copies of the Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Order may be inspected as follows:
(a) online at: https://streets.appyway.com/sutton, by selecting the road name and restriction as detailed item 2 above;
(b) the Council’s Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or
(c) by calling 020 8770 5500.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
