What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH 

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL 
(RATCLIFFE-ON-SOAR FOOTPATH NO.9)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall:-
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of Footpath at Ratcliffe-on-Soar in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-
Ratcliffe-on-Soar Footpath No.9 from entrance into Field off Barton Lane to joining point with Thrumpton Footpath No.1.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:- From Thursday 1st October 2026 until Thursday 1st April 2027 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction an alternative route is provided around the field edge.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. 

It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable pre extraction mining works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. 

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 21ST DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2026
