Lowestoft - Temporary Road Closures & One-Way Traffic due to Gas Main Connection Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE B1384 STRADBROKE ROAD AND U9053 LANSDOWNE ROAD, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
• B1384 Stradbroke Road, Lowestoft from Bloodmoor Road roundabout for 35 metres eastbound.
• U9053 Lansdowne Road, Lowestoft from the junction with Stradbroke Road for 38 metres southbound.
This is to facilitate a gas main connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
• Stradbroke Road Diversion: London Road Pakefield, Bloodmoor Road and no vice versa.
• Lansdowne Road Diversion: Merriefield Road, Ship Road and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure, there will be a temporary provision for one-way traffic in a westbound direction only on the B1384 Stradbroke Road, Lowestoft from no. 177 to Bloodmoor Road roundabout.
It is intended that these measures will operate from 28/09/2026 - 13/11/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
