Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Road and Bridleway Closures due to Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Duck Street, Fobbesbourne Wake; from its junction with Pound Street to its junction with West End to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via C334 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. B) C276 (Part), Sutton Mandeville; from its junction with C24 to its property known as Panters to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out bridge and associated works. Diversion route to be symbolised with a solid circle. Alternative route via C276 (unaffected length) – C64 – B3089 – C24 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 October 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. C) Allington Track (Part), Allington; from its junction with A338 for a distance of approximately 240m in a westerly direction to enable Wessex Internet to carry out ducting work and other associated works. Alternative route via Allington Track (unaffected length) – A303 – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 October 2026 and the closure will be required until for 4 days. D) UC 162602 (Part), Odstock and Downton; from its property known as Green Pastures for a distance of approximately 400m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out tree cutting and associated works. Alternative route via UC 162602 (unaffected length) – A338 – UC 162601 – UC 162602 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. E) Knapp Hill (Part), Broad Chalke; from its junction with The Marsh to its junction with C65 to enable Openreach to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via C65 – C12 – Knapp Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. F) C61 (Part), Donhead St Andrew; from its junction with C314 to its property known as Oakfield House to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via C61 (unaffected length) – C299 – C313 – C61 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 2 days. G) UC 912202, Donhead St Mary; from its junction with C295 to its junction with C312 to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via C312 – A30 – C295 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 2 days. H) St James Street (Part), Ludgershall; from its junction with A342 to its junction with Chapel Lane to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out repair service and other associated works. Alternative route via St James Street (unaffected length) – A3026 – A342 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. I) C289 (Part), Grimstead; from its junction with C323 to its junction with Bugmore Lane to enable Scottish Water Services to carry out manhole, surface repairs and associated works. Alternative route via C289 (unaffected length) – C331 – C321 – C289 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 18:30 for 3 days. Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users: Bridleway 13 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Bridleway 10, Netherhampton for a distance of approximately 705m in a north easterly direction to enable Construction activities relating to the safe formation of the infrastructure loop road within the development. Alternative route via signed route and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 20 March 2027. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
