Temporary Closure of Marsh Road, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along MARSH ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Chickerell Road and Weston Road, a distance of approximately 45 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 9 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 November 2026.

This Order will enable Connect It Utility Services on behalf of Scottish & Southern Power Distribution to facilitate traffic management during reinforcement project.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Chickerell Road - A354 - Newstead Road - Marsh Road.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Various Roads, Portland

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 October 2026.

This Order will enable Eurovia on behalf of Dorset Council to carry out surfacing works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Greenways for its entirety, including the garage access road

[2] To impose temporary road closure on Shortlands for its entirety

[3] To impose temporary road closure on Hamcroft for its entirety

[4] To impose temporary road closure on Montrose Close for its entirety

[5] To impose temporary road closure on Weston Road for its entirety

[6] To impose temporary clearway on Greenways for its entirety, including the garage access road to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[7] To impose temporary clearway on Shortlands for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[8] To impose temporary clearway on Hamcroft for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[9] To impose temporary clearway on Montrose Close for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[10] To impose temporary clearway on Weston Road for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council's vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Parking Suspension of Marsh Road, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 9 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 November 2026.

This Order will enable Connect It Utility Services to carry out electricity utility works on behalf of SSE.

The effect of this Order will be;

[1] To impose temporary parking suspension on Marsh Road between its junctions with Newstead Road & Weston Road.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpaths S1/92, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath 92, from grid reference SY 66063 78338 to grid reference SY 66251 78407, a distance of approximately 200 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 29 September 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order is required to allow continuation of the housing development. On this occasion there will be no suitable alternative route.

Temporary Closure of Bindon Lane, Wool

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18th September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd September 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Bindon Lane, Wool from junction with B3071 High Street to outside Bindon Farm (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1050 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspensions as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Bindon Lane, Wool from junction with B3071 High Street to outside Bindon Farm (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1050 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
