Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of The Order:
- To Revoke: ‘Resident Parking Permit Holder Only Zone 3’ and To Extend:
‘No Stopping Except Buses’ restriction

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ by substituting map tile: TL760 230 Revision 2 to Revision 3
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Footpath 20 and Footpath 22, Hatfield Peverel)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 20 and Footpath 22, Hatfield Peverel in the District of Braintree as specified below.

Footpath 20, Hatfield Peverel
From Footpath 19 to vehicular gate north of cemetery approximately 73 metres
Footpath 20, Hatfield Peverel
From vehicular gate south of cemetery for approximately 565 metres to Sportsmans Lane.
Footpath 22, Hatfield Peverel
From Footpath 20 approximately 172 metres to Ulting Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 21 September 2026 to 31 October 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footpath surface/where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
Alternative Route: They will close/section off the parts they are working on to enable detours for walkers.
The Order will come into effect on 21 September 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Lane, Cressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Braintree Road for a distance of approximately 300m in a south westerly then westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD0376865690 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lining works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via Braintree Road and vice versa (with access only into Mill Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Water Lane, Stisted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water Lane, Stisted in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 250m south west of its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311003WH1GRC6J – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Water Lane, Milles Lane, A120, Kings Lane, The Street, Water Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
