NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The effect of the proposed order will be to formalise existing lengths of no waiting at any time along lengths of Chickerell Road, Curtis Way and East Field Road, Weymouth (around the junction of Co-Operative store and junction into Curtis Field development site).

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath S37/2, Portesham

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath S37/2, PORTESHAM from grid reference SY 60514 86123 to grid reference SY 60636 86103, a distance of approximately 120 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and will remain in force for 26 weeks however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 October 2026.

It can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This closure is required to allow Wessex Water to carry out site improvement works at Portesham Water Treatment Plant.

The alternative route will be; From SY 60514 86123 head south west to Portesham Hill, then head south along Portesham Hill and Front Street to SY 60313 85955, the junction with footpath S37/4 North Mead Farm, a distance of 150 metres. From SY 60313 85955 head east along footpath S37/4 to SY 60691 85782, the junction with footpath S37/3, a distance of 380 metres. From SY 60691 85782 head north along footpath S37/3 to SY 60636 86103 the junction with footpath S37/2, a distance of 285 metres.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 December 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water Services, safe access to lay new sewer connection.

The effect of the Order will be;

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Kings Road between its junctions with Icen Way and the B3144

[2] To impose temporary road closure on Athelstan Road for its entirety

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Newstead Road, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 October 2026.

This Order will enable Connect It Utilities on behalf of Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to carry out electricity works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary clearway on Newstead Road from its junction with Marsh Road for a distance of approximately 80 metres north.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Greenhill between Westerhall Road and Waterloo Place

[2] To impose temporary clearway on Greenhill between Westerhall Road and Waterloo Place to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[3] To impose temporary road closure on Waterloo Place for its entirety

[4] To impose temporary clearway on Waterloo Place for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[5] To impose temporary road closure on The Esplanade between Waterloo Place and Alexandra Gardens

[6] To impose temporary clearway on The Esplanade between Waterloo Place and Alexandra Gardens to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

[7] To impose temporary road closure on King Street for its entirety

[8] To impose temporary clearway on King Street for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council's vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bridle Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
