(Various Roads, Little Easton) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2), and Parts IV and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order:
To Extend: a ‘30mph Speed Limit’ (Currently a 40mph Speed Limit).

Duck Street, Little Easton
Description
From a point approximately 63 metres west of Public Footpath No.26, Little Easton (the current 30mph terminal point) eastwards for approximately 402 metres.
‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Little Easton) (30mph & 40mph Speed Limit) Order 2018’ is hereby revoked in its entirety. The restrictions contained within that Order shall continue in force by virtue of this new Order.
This Order will come into operation on: 21 September 2026

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Footpath 17, Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 17 Newport, in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Footpath 18 to its junction with Footpath 4 (Debden)
Diversion route: Footpath 18 (Newport) and Footpath 4 (Debden) and vice versa.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 29 September 2026 to 20 October 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while major works at Newport Sewage Treatment takes place creating a temporary access.
The Order will come into effect on 29 September 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Rectory Lane, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 30m west of its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 20m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411NL001WGQLVW1C – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(The Druce, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Druce, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 90m south west then south east of its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH3CRL0B – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bardfield Road, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bardfield Road, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 2790m south west of its junction with Little Bardfield Road for a distance of approximately 675m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH3DV28L – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Bardfield Road, Bardfield End Green, Thaxted Road, Bardfield End Green Road, Sampford Hall Lane, Hawkspur Green Road, Little Sampford Road, Little Bardfield Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.4) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 10th September 2026, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main upgrade works are undertaken by Cadent.
The Order came into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
