What is happening?
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highways (East) (No.20) Order 2026” authorising the stopping up of 2 northern part widths of Station Road comprising highway verge at Saffron Walden, in the District of Uttlesford. This is to enable development as permitted by Uttlesford District Council under reference UTT/25/3225/FUL.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting SUO4948670). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Uttlesford District Council, Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden, CB11 4ER.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 17 September 2026.
