TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WEST BRIDGFORD FOOTPATH NO.30 AND NO.31, SHARPHILL WOODS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: - Proceed on foot, in the following lengths of Footpath at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-

West Bridgford Footpath No.30 and No.31 at the southern end of Sharphill Woods. 

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From Monday , 21st September 2026 until Friday 30th October 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are alternative non definitive routes around the outside of Sharphill Woods.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpaths. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety while works are carried out to thin the Ash Trees within the woodland due to Ash Die Back.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 18TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2026.
