Shared Footpath/Cycleway (Stony Wood), Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close shared footpath/cycleway (Stony Wood) in the District of Harlow as below:
(1) Footpath/Cycleway (Stony Wood), Harlow — From its junction with Stony Wood, North for approximately 228 metres.
(2) Footpath/Cycleway (Stony Wood), Harlow — From its junction with Westfield (BR52) Southeast and then northeast for approximately 563 metres.
Diversion route: Stony Wood, Willowfield, FP 116, Third Avenue/Cycle Trail, Second Avenue and vice versa.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 28 September 2026 to 30 September 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The temporary closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while sewer pipe repair works are undertaken. The Order will come into force on 28 September 2026 continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Birds Green, Fyfield) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birds Green, Fyfield in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Dunmow Road to its junction with School Lane a distance of approximately 1995m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2384859 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via: Dunmow Road, School Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 440m south west of its junction with Mott Street for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (M0091LSN000814316860045 – Thames Water Utilities).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection works are undertaken by Thames Water Utilities.
An alternative route is available via: Lippitts Hill, Mott Street and vice versa (with access only into Church Road).
The Order will come into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District Of Harlow) - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic & Temporary Introduction Of A Clearway) - Order (No.6) 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Harlow as specified in the schedule.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Harlow District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 24th September 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. These roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.
Access will be maintained for emergency services.
Diversion route will be signed at each location, and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Effect of the order:
1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on that length of road specified in the Schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Woodcroft, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from its junction with Penlow Road for a distance of approximately 125m in a north westerly direction.
